Zimbabwe: Children on the frontline as climate and economic crises collide

Zimbabwe’s worsening food crisis is forcing children to eat only once a day and walk for hours across dry rocky terrain to collect water, according to Save the Children. The agency is warning that without a major increase in the humanitarian response in Zimbabwe, lives will be lost as children and their families adopt more extreme coping mechanisms to survive.

SCSA appalled by the continued killing of children

Save the Children South Africa (SCSA) is saddened by the gruesome discovery of the body of eight-year-old Tazne van Wyk, in a storm water pipe outside Worcester. Tazne went missing in Elsies River, almost two weeks ago. We send our heartfelt condolences to her family.

SA must do more to help protect children affected by conflict

Save the Children calls on South Africa to use its non-permanent seat at the United Nations’ Security Council and its African Union Chairmanship to push for the protection of children affected by armed conflict.

Save the Children joins forces with Club Med

Save the Children South Africa has joined forces with Club Med, to improve the lives of children in South Africa. The partnership was officially launched at Club Med’s Golf Day, which was held in Midrand early this month. The event saw more R150, 000 being donated to SCSA. The money will be directed towards Early Childhood Development (ECD).

#100Years: Save the Children’s work in Limpopo hailed

Limpopo’s government has hailed Save the Children South Africa’s (SCSA) work in the province. Representatives from the provincial government, were speaking at SCSA’s centenary celebration last week.

Children at the centre of SCSA and Henkel partnership

Save the Children South Africa (SCSA) has officially received a donation of almost half a million rand (€30, 000), after participating in Henkel’s global 50th birthday competition. The cheque was handed over at an event hosted at the Bounce indoor trampoline park in Midrand on Monday.

Nathan conquers Kilimanjaro for Children

Nathan Stubbs, an avid adventurer, has conquered Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds and awareness for children in South Africa. Thanks to the generosity of Nathan’s friends and family, and you, our supporters, he reached a goal of R 30 000.
