Berenice Lue Marais

Berenice Le Marais 
Berenice Lue Marais has extensive international cooperation and strategic business development experience. She has held various key senior positions across several organizations. Her previous management and leadership positions include leading the Africa, International Development, Strategic Alliances, and Business Development portfolios.

Berenice studied at the American University KOGOD School of Business, where she was awarded a MBA in International Business. Under a United Nations Fellowship, Education and Training Program for South Africans she obtained a BA in Economics, specializing in Sub-Saharan African Development.

Berenice has held various Board and leadership positions including;
  • Board Member: South African National Accreditation System (SANAS), Appointed by Minister of Trade & Industry, (Current);
  • Board Member: Ethics Institute of South Africa, 2006 (Current); Commissioner: SARS Audit Committee, Appointed by Mr Pravin Gordhan, Commissioner, 2003;
  • Ex-Board Member: HOPE Worldwide, Appointed by Dr Mark Ottenweller, 2001;
  • Ex-Board Member: African Thought Initiative, Appointed by Mr Govan Mbeki (late), 2000;
  • Ex-Board Member: The South African Sports Information and Science Agency (SISA), appointed by Minister of Sports and Recreation,1999.
